Central New York Board #38 joined the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials, Inc. (IAABO) in 1925.
We have had many officials go on to officiate at the NBA & NCAA Division 1 level including Final Fours and NCAA Championship games.
Our board services Boys basketball for schools in the Central NY (Syracuse) Area. Schools located between Pulaski To Cortland, Auburn To Canastota and Everything in between
IAABO
The International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO) is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1921 to promote and standardize officiating in the sport of basketball.
IAABO has over 135 local boards around the world, with members in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia.
IAABO officials are responsible for enforcing the rules of the game and ensuring fair play and safety for all players.
Training
Our organization’s primary purpose is to educate, train, develop and provide continuous instruction for basketball officials.
We strive to maintain the highest standard of basketball officiating to accomplish this, we use a variety of tools including our industry-leading online training known as IAABO University.
